ERIN SOLOMON, PhD, joined the Division of General Medical Sciences and the Professional and Social Issues Lab in 2018 as a Staff Scientist. She earned her PhD in social psychology from Saint Louis University with a secondary concentration in Quantitative Methods in the Behavioral Sciences and a Certificate in University Teaching Skills. Prior to joining the PSI lab, she was a Research Scientist and Project Manager in the Center for Integrative Research on Cognition, Learning, and Education at Washington University from 2014-2018, where she coordinated the implementation of evidence-based teaching strategies into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, and conducted evaluative studies on the effect of these implementations on student learning, engagement, and attitudes.

Professional Service Highlights

  • Dr. Solomon has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for multiple publications, such as the Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Social and Political Psychology, and Politics and Policy.
  • Dr. Solomon was an inaugural member and helped found the Inclusive Environments and Metrics in Biology Education Research Network.
  • Dr. Solomon has served as the coordinator of several learning communities at Washington University, including the STEM Education Research Group, the Faculty Clicker Learning Community, and the Community for Innovations in STEM Teaching, Inclusion, and Learning.
